Falls Creek can get a little busy between Christmas and New Year, and at Easter, but for the rest of the November-May period it is very peaceful.
You can read and relax around the lodge, enjoying a meal on the balcony in the sun. You can take a walk: short walks around the village or longer walks across the high plains. Visit Mt McKay, ‘ Ruined Castle’ or Wallace’s Hut by combining a drive with a short walk. Maps and guides are available from the Information Centre or Snowland licensed supermarket.
Other activities include: fishing (be sure to obtain a license, which is available from Snowland), horse riding, mountain-bike riding, wild-flower tours.
Remember to bring warm clothing as it can snow even in January. Some bars and restaurants are open all year at Falls Creek.
